CALIFORNIA PERMANENT NERVE DAMAGE LAWYERS
SERVING SAN DIEGO TO SACRAMENTO AND THE ENTIRE STATE
Nerves are responsible for carrying the signals from our brains to the different parts of the body; they are the wires that transmit the data between the muscles and the brain. Damage to the nerves can sever the signals that travel to and from the brain. Nerve damage is often permanent and can cause paralysis, paraplegia, and quadriplegia. Once a nerve is severed or cut, there is little that can be done to repair the nerve. Nerve damage can also be temporary, such as radiculopathy caused by a disc herniation impinging on the nerves in the spine. Physical and chiropractic therapy can help relieve the source of pressure on the nerve.

Types of Nerve Damage
There are three categories of nerve damage:
- Autonomic Nerve Damage – Autonomic nerves control involuntary actions in the body, such as breathing, heartbeat, and other bodily functions. Victims of autonomic nerve damage injuries may experience dry mouth, dry eyes, light-headedness, irregular sweating, constipation, bladder dysfunction, and sexual dysfunction.
- Motor Nerve Damage – Motor nerves control voluntary actions such as muscle movement, running, talking, lifting, and speaking. Victims of motor nerve damage injuries may experience weakness, muscle atrophy, muscle twitching, paralysis, paraplegia, and quadriplegia.
- Sensory Nerve Damage – Sensory nerves send signals about your environment to your brain; they allow you to see, smell, taste, hear and feel. Victims of sensory nerve damage injuries may experience pain, sensitivity, numbness, burning, tingling, and hypersensitivity.
There are many different types of injuries and accidents that can cause nerve damages. Car accidents, construction site accidents, assaults, slip and falls, electrocution and burns can all cause spinal cord injuries and nerve damage. Nerve damage can also result from medical malpractice, dangerous pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, surgical errors, and dental errors. Repetitive stress—such as carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder impingement, and thoracic outlet syndrome— can also cause nerve damage.
We Are Prepared to Fight for Your Recovery
Our experienced California nerve damage injury lawyers have a wealth of experience in dealing with nerve damage accident claims. We are familiar with the tests and procedures necessary to prove your nerve damage injury claim. Often, a nerve conduction test is known as electromyography (“EMG”), which is used to test the signals traveling between the muscles and the brain. Our experienced attorneys can work with medical experts to prosecute your permanent nerve damage accident claim.
Unfortunately, insurance companies will often do everything they can to devalue or deny rightful claims. It is crucial that you speak to an experienced attorney who can help you fight for the full, fair recovery you are owed. At B&D Law Group, we have recovered millions of dollars on behalf of injured individuals throughout California.
