Where we are. The firm has offices in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, Bakersfield and Las Vegas, and we take cases throughout California. If travelling to an office is difficult after an injury, we will come to you.

How the fee works. Personal injury cases here are handled on a contingency fee, which means there is no attorney fee unless there is a recovery. Case costs such as medical record retrieval, filing fees and expert review are typically advanced by the firm and reimbursed out of any settlement or award. You will get the fee agreement in writing before anything moves forward, and you should read it.

What the first conversation looks like. A case review is free and it is a conversation, not a commitment. We will ask what happened, what injuries you are dealing with, whether you have spoken to any insurer yet, and what treatment you have had. From that we can usually tell you whether there is a claim worth pursuing, who is likely to be responsible, and what the next few months would involve. If we do not think a claim is worth bringing, we will tell you that too.

One thing worth knowing early. Most California personal injury claims must be filed within two years of the injury under Code of Civil Procedure section 335.1, and claims involving a city, county or other public entity generally have to be presented within six months. Evidence also has a way of disappearing: vehicles get repaired, camera footage is overwritten on a cycle, and witnesses become hard to find. Early advice is worth more than late advice.
