Matthew Lopez joined the B&D Law Firm after graduating from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, CA in 2019 with his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. He passed the State Bar of California in July 2019.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Southern California in History, Mr. Lopez began his law career as a law clerk for Ring, Inc, in Santa Monica, CA in 2017. In this role, he conducted research on privacy laws and wiretapping, reviewed non-disclosure and service agreements, and also reviewed rejected patent applications.
Mr. Lopez has experience in working with the prosecution as part of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office in two of the toughest divisions in the city. First, he worked as a law clerk with the Sex Crimes Division, where he assisted the prosecutorial team in research and wrote motions for current cases. Mr. Lopez also sat as the second chair in a jury trial participating in the examination of witnesses. He transitioned to the Hardcore Gang Division where he helped to prepare evidence and conduct research on cases.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Lopez has worked with business and criminal law and gained skills in research, writing motions, preparing evidence, and reviewing and drafting corporate agreements.
